Affiliate Disclosure & Pricing Data Notice

How we make money, and what our prices do and don’t mean.

1. The Short Version

PriceCreeper.com earns commissions from some of the links on this Site. When you click certain links to a merchant and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may be paid a commission by that merchant or by an affiliate network. This costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price you would pay if you had gone to the merchant directly.

Commissions do not determine what we cover, how we rank products, or what price we report. We do not accept payment for coverage or for a favorable ranking. Prices shown on this Site are historical observations and may be out of date — always confirm the current price on the merchant’s own site before you buy.

2. How We Make Money

PriceCreeper is free to use and is funded primarily by affiliate commissions. We place a link to a merchant that carries a tracking parameter identifying PriceCreeper. If you click it and complete a qualifying action within a set window — a purchase, a subscription signup, or a free-trial conversion — the merchant or its affiliate network records the transaction and pays us a percentage or a flat fee.

What this means for you: you pay the same price (affiliate links add no cost or markup); you are not obligated to use our links (the Site works identically if you navigate to the merchant yourself); and you can disable affiliate cookies through the "Cookie Preferences" link in our footer — if you do, we may earn nothing on your purchase, and that is entirely your right. We may also earn from display advertising, sponsored content (always labeled prominently, at the top), and data licensing.

3. Where and How We Disclose

The FTC’s Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255) treat an affiliate commission as a material connection that must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously — "difficult to miss" and, in interactive media, unavoidable. A link to this page, standing alone, does not satisfy that standard, so we also disclose:

  • Above the fold on every page containing affiliate links — a plain-language banner in body-text size and high contrast, not hidden behind a "more" control.
  • Immediately next to every price table, deal block, or "Buy" button — an inline notice that we may earn a commission and that the price is as of the timestamp shown.
  • In every newsletter — a disclosure in the first screen, before the first affiliate link.
  • On every social post with an affiliate link — #ad or #affiliate at the start of the caption, plus on-screen text in any video.
  • In every page footer — a persistent link to this page.
  • On any sponsored or paid placement — a "SPONSORED" or "PAID PARTNERSHIP" label at the top, before any content is read.

4. Which Programs We Participate In

PriceCreeper participates in affiliate programs operated by or through impact.com, CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction, Inc.), Rakuten Advertising, Awin / ShareASale, Amazon Associates, and Sovrn Commerce.

There is no single unified affiliate program for most large brand families. Coverage of a given brand’s products may run through several different networks depending on whether the item is merchandise, a streaming subscription, a ticket, or a travel package — and some categories are monetized only through authorized third-party resellers rather than the brand itself. Where that is the case, the link goes to the reseller, and we say so on the page.

5. Editorial Independence

These are commitments, not aspirations. Hold us to them:

  • Commission rates do not influence rankings — ordering is driven by price, price history, value, and terms.
  • We report the lowest price we find, whether or not it is monetized, and link there anyway.
  • We do not accept payment for a favorable review, ranking, or rating.
  • Sponsored content is labeled as sponsored, at the top, before you read it.
  • We do not delete or soften negative coverage at a merchant’s request; we correct factual errors, not accurate criticism.
  • We disclose when a link is to a reseller rather than to the brand itself.
  • Losing an affiliate program does not change our editorial coverage of that brand.

6. Pricing Data — What It Is and What It Isn’t

Every price we display is a record of what we observed at a specific time, from a specific source, for a specific region and currency. It is not an offer, not a quotation, not a guarantee that the price is available now, and not a guarantee that it was ever available to you specifically.

Prices go stale fast: merchants change prices constantly; promotions expire; prices vary by region, currency, membership tier, device, and time of day; and taxes, shipping, and fees are often excluded. We timestamp prices, flag or suppress stale ones, and correct errors promptly — but we cannot guarantee any price is accurate or current, and we cannot honor, match, or refund any price shown here.

The one rule that matters: the price displayed at checkout on the merchant’s own website is the only price that counts. Verify before you buy. Found a wrong price? Email info@pricecreeper.com with the subject "PRICE ERROR" and the URL.

7. What We Are Not

PriceCreeper is a publication. It is not a retailer, reseller, ticket broker, or travel agency; not a payment processor; not a customer-service channel for any merchant; not an authorized representative of any brand; and not a party to any transaction between you and a merchant.

All purchase, delivery, warranty, return, refund, cancellation, and subscription matters are between you and the merchant. We cannot cancel your subscription, process your return, or find your order — contact the merchant directly.

8. AI-Assisted Content

Where we use automated tools or AI assistance in producing content, the disclosure obligations on this page apply identically. The obligation to disclose a material connection follows the commission, not the authorship, and all content containing affiliate links is reviewed by a human before publication.

9. Your Privacy When You Click an Affiliate Link

Clicking an affiliate link activates tracking that lets the merchant or network attribute your purchase to us, which may involve setting or reading a cookie or passing a click identifier. We do not receive your name, address, payment details, or an itemized purchase history tied to you as an identified individual — only confirmation that a click resulted in a qualifying transaction, an order value, a currency, and a timestamp.

Under some U.S. state privacy laws this may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out (see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy), and we honor Global Privacy Control signals automatically.
